Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Surgical First Assist to support our Surgical Services Team in the Main Operating Room at Baptist Medical Center Downtown in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full time days position.
As a Surgical First Assist for the OR, your responsibilities include:
- Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.
- These tasks include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon preference
- Patient positioning
- Provide visualizatoin of operative site
- Utilizes techniques to provide hemostasis
- Assist with body plan closure
- Advanced skills as competency tested
- Participate actively in the safe surgery checklist briefing and debriefing
- Assists in turnover of operating room

Experience
- 2 years Operating Room Experience Required
License and Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant (CSTFA) Required Or
- Surgical Assistant Certification (SA-C) Required Or
