Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist, Main OR, Baptist Beaches

Job Summary

Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Certified Surgical First Assist to support our Surgical Services Team in the Main Operating Room at Baptist Medical Center Beaches. This is a full time days position, with the shift times being 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday - Friday. 

As a Surgical First Assist for the OR, your responsibilities include:

• Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.
• These tasks include but are not limited to:
• Preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon preference
• Patient positioning
• Provide visualizatoin of operative site
• Utilizes techniques to provide hemostasis
• Assist with body plan closure
• Advanced skills as competency tested
• Participate actively in the safe surgery checklist briefing and debriefing
• Assists in turnover of operating room

Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Education Preferred

Associate's Degree

Experience

• 2 years Operating Room Experience Required

License and Certification

• Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant (CSTFA) Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
