Lead Patient Access Representative, Baptist North

Job Summary

Baptist ED North is currently hiring for a Full-Time Patient Access Team Lead to join our team at our Baptist ED North location here in the Jacksonville, FL area.

Shift Details: It will be a rotating schedule 4pm-2:30am 4 days a week. The Team Lead will be required to work Days/Nights/Weekend/Holidays when needed.

As a Patient Access Team Lead, you will be responsible for:

• Accurately register all patients and update demographic and insurance information for maintenance of accurate information.
• Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces
• Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas.
• Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters.
• Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, etc.)
• Possesses a strong understanding and able to explain State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO.
• Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members including peer leaders in other departments.
• Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms.
• Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Assists in the On-Call rotation for the assigned area including staffing as needed.
• Interacts with staff, patients, internal departments, physician practices and insurance companies to obtain maximum reimbursement through established collection procedures.
• Responsible for assisting team members on a day to day basis with questions and solutions

*BLS CPR certification required within 30 days of hire (ED positions only).

Baptist Emergency at Dunn Avenue

The Baptist North Emergency Center is located at the northeast intersection of 295 and Dunn Avenue.  The center is planning to open in late fall of 2016 and will bring the high-quality care of Wolfson Children's Hospital and Baptist Health to residents of northwest Jacksonville.  This emergency center will be open 24 hours a day, has 16 treatment rooms, a separate waiting room for children, children specific medical equipment and imaging capabilities, a LifeFlight helipad and an on-site ambulance.  Pediatric emergency medical physicians affiliated with Wolfson Children's Hospital are also available during peak hours daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.  With a focus on wellness, the campus's three story Medical Office Building will feature a YMCA on the first floor with a Healthy Living Center.  The Medical Office Building has primary care an specialist physicians' offices that are open throughout the year, providing northside families with a "one-stop" destination for a wide array of care.
