Baptist Health is looking to add a Medical Assistant II in our Orthopedic Department at Baptist Clay in Fleming, Florida. This opening is a full-time opportunity.

This position is for the Baptist Clay Orthopedic office. The office will officially open in December 2024. There will be up to three surgical and nonsurgical doctors at this location. The experienced candidate will eventually support all doctors in the office. This position is clinical, performing back office Medical Assistant duties, such as rooming patients, obtaining vitals, preparing x-rays and answering patients questions via inbasket. Experience with Orthopedic is a plus but not required. Specialty experience, including Neurosurgery, Spine and Pain or Cardiology, is preferred.

As a Medical Assistant II, you will be responsible for:

  • Provides nursing assistance to physicians
  • Obtains vital signs
  • Greets and chaperones patients during medical visit
  • Telephone triage
  • Patient education
  • Maintains medical documentation
  • Schedules care, treatment, diagnostic tests per physician
  • Processes CLIA waived tests, prescription requests and referrals
  • Cross train in front office, referrals and other areas (E.G.FP and Peds)

Experience

  • Over 5 years Patient Care Experience
