Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. This part-time, day-shift position is based in the Pavilion Lab. The schedule consists of a 5-hour mid-shift each day, with the potential for Saturday availability as needed.

The Collection and Accessioning department is the section of the laboratory where specimens are received, sorted, entered into the Laboratory Information System, labelled with barcoded labels and processed.

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, you will be responsible for: 

• Performing a variety of clerical and technical duties associated with the pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.
• Communicating laboratory results and responds to specimen-related questions from physicians and various other caregivers.
• Collecting blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.
• Utilizing computer functions.

Associate's Degree

Experience

• Less than 1 year Phlebotomy Experience
• Specimen Processing Experience

License and Certification

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician Preferred
