Job Summary

Baptist Health is looking to add a highly motivated and skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team working at Baptist Medical Center Clay. This is a part-time evening shift opportunity, working Tuesdays and Wednesdays (3:00pm -11:30pm). Other shifts available for fill in.

This candidate should have excellent customer service skills, as they will be working face-to-face with patients and other medical professionals daily. This Medical Laboratory Assistant is a multiskilled individual who may assist with specimen collection and processing, computer registration, order entry, computer accessioning and speciment distribution.

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing the duties of a phlebotomist in an outpatient laboratory setting.
  • Utilizing computer systems in the processing of laboratory specimens.
  • Retrieving specimens from pneumatic tube system and processes specimens according to specimen type.
  • Distributing specimens to different areas of the laboratory.
  • Coordinating specimen pick-ups for referral testing.
  • Preparing specimen transfer lists and packages specimens in accordance with laboratory policy for transport.

Experience

  • 3-5 Years Phlebotomy Experience

License and Certification
