Job Summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Medical Staff Coordinator to join the Medical Affairs team. This a PRN (not guaranteed hours/no benefits) opportunity locate at various Baptist Health locations.

Under limited supervision, the Medical Staff Coordinator serves as an essential link and resource between Senior Management, Credentialing Specialists and Medical Staff to coordinate the operational processes and ongoing credentialing, privileging, and medical staff governance functions of the Office of Clinical Affairs.

  • Responsible for review, analysis and follow up of credentialing and privileging applications, maintaining strict confidentiality and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and accrediting and regulatory agencies.
  • Assists in the management of the medical staff support function for the entity Medical Staff Organization as outlined in the entity Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • Coordinates receipt of credentialing and privileging applications following processing and primary source verification; performs review and analysis, identification and follow up of "red flag" items.
  • Coordinates credentialing end-of-committee process to ensure notification of providers, departments; database updates; breakdown, completion and scanning of files as appropriate.
  • Schedules, coordinates, prepares agenda, takes minutes, provides follow up for medical staff meetings outlined in the entity Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • Assists in coordination, tracking and monitoring of the OPPE and FPPE process ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and Medical Staff Affairs policies.
  • Interprets federal, state, local, and government/insurance agency regulations and guidelines, Medical Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures; advises providers, management, and administrators on compliance issues as appropriate.
  • Generates queries and reports from credentialing and privileging database.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

This is a PRN position – that means it does not have any guaranteed hours and no benefits. The position will cover when team members are out. This is an in-person opportunity and you must be willing to travel to Baptist Jacksonville (Downtown), Baptist South, Baptist Clay and Baptist Beaches.
