Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is hiring an Office Specialist I for the Behavioral Health Outpatient Department located at Baptist Southbank Plaza.

This is a full-time position working a Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm schedule no weekends.

***PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN A BUSY OFFICE WITH CONSIDERABLE MULTI-TASKING IS REQUIRED***

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Perform appointment-scheduling tasks, provide quality face to face customer service, answering incoming calls on the phone queue, faxing documents and creating documents as needed.
  •  Ability to effectively communicate, deliver information, explain procedures and train new hires in a professional environment. 
  • Show initiative; NOT requiring micro-management of tasks once trained. 
  • Ability to work independently, maintain working relationship with coworkers, take constructive feedback and coaching from management.
  • Interacts with patients in a professional, confident yet gentle and empathic manner.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with billing specialist, physicians, and team members to prioritize and organize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Must be capable of processing requests for information quickly and accurately, and involve other team members/management, when appropriate, to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Collect identification and insurance cards as necessary and copies or scan documents into the electronic medical record. 
  • Effectively communicate with behavioral health providers via phone notes and TELMEDIQ messaging.
  • 10. Keeping up with electronic medical record-scanning and saving charts. 
  • Obtain patient information and/ or ensure all patient information (demographics, pharmacy etc.) is current 
  • Prep electronic charts for the next day upcoming clinic visits. 
  • Confirming patient appointments, informing patients about co-pays, collecting past due balances and posting payments.
  • Become a certified Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS ) Healthcare Technician (training provided) 

Dress Code: Business casual or solid colored scrubs (Professional, neat, clean, pressed, non-wrinkled, and well-groomed)

Job Training: If hired, training normally last 4 to 5 weeks.
