Jacksonville, FL.
Melanie Husk, senior vice president and chief consumer officer of Baptist Health, was recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review on its 60-strong list of hospital and health system chief marketing officers to know. The prestigious list honors “bold, strategic thinkers” who drive marketing, communication and brand development within their respective organizations.
Husk joined Baptist Health in 2006 and has more than 40 years of experience in marketing leadership roles. As chief consumer officer, she leads marketing, communications, digital strategy, advertising, social responsibility and community-based initiatives for the thriving health system that provides top-quality care and services to 750,000 people annually in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
Baptist Health is committed to improving patient experiences and making it easier for people to connect with the health system about their health and wellness needs. The organization builds on this commitment through digital initiatives such as the My Baptist Chart online patient portal and HealthPlace On Demand, which makes online doctor’s visits accessible to patients 24/7, as well as by investing in community impact projects such as Blue Zones Jacksonville and the Emerald Trail, a 30-mile walking and bicycling path linking 14 neighborhoods with downtown Jacksonville.
“We congratulate Melanie on this very well-deserved honor and thank her for her steadfast commitment to the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of the communities we serve,” said Michael A. Mayo, DHA, FACHE, president and CEO of Baptist Health. “At Baptist Health, we actively look for new ways to connect and engage with our growing community so we can meet their changing health needs.”
Husk has served on the boards of several local organizations, including YMCA Metro, the United Way of Northeast Florida, the University of North Florida Foundation and the International Women’s Foundation. She currently serves on the board of Bright Holidays.
