Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville has been named as one of the “100 great hospitals in America,” according to the 2020 Becker’s Healthcare list. Hospitals included on this list have been recognized nationally for excellence in clinical care, patient outcomes, as well as staff and physician satisfaction.
The hospitals selected are industry leaders that have achieved advanced accreditation and certification in several specialties. The “100 great hospitals in America” list also includes industry innovators that have sparked trends in health care technology, hospital management and patient satisfaction.
“To be named as one of Becker’s Healthcare ‘100 great hospitals in America’ is an honor. It recognizes the hard work, dedication and sacrifice of our team members and physicians,” said Michael A. Mayo, FACHE, hospital president of Baptist Jacksonville. “We take pride in the exceptional quality of our care. This recognition mirrors the commitment and leadership excellence that our team members demonstrate on a daily basis.”
In addition to seeking nominations from readers, Becker's Healthcare selected the hospitals for inclusion based on analysis of ranking and award agencies, including U.S. News & World Report's 2019-20 rankings, CareChex, Healthgrades, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Star Ratings, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades and IBM Watson Health top hospitals.
Baptist Jacksonville was recognized in the 2019-2020 rankings and ratings by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top hospitals nationally for gynecology and diabetes and endocrinology. It was also recognized as No. 5 in Florida.
Demonstrating a long-time commitment to excellence in safety and quality, Baptist Jacksonville received an ‘A’ rating from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, a national distinction recognizing achievements in providing the safest health care for patients, for the sixth consecutive time.
Baptist Health has been recognized as a Magnet Health System, the gold standard among health care organizations that meet the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) standards for quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovations in professional nursing practice, since 2007. Fewer than 7% of all registered hospitals receive Magnet designation.
