Wired for success: Baptist Health retains elite ranking on CHIME’s ‘Most Wired’ Digital Health survey

North Florida’s most preferred health care organization is recognized once again for its commitment to improving patient care and outcomes through digital strategies.

Jacksonville, FL.

Baptist Health of Northeast Florida’s commitment to enhancing health care delivery and the patient experience through technology was recently recognized in the “Digital Health Most Wired” survey. The health system is among an elite group of just 26 out of 48,000 health care organizations surveyed worldwide to earn Level 10, the highest recognition possible from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). This is the second consecutive year Baptist Health has achieved this elite ranking from the CHIME, world’s largest network of health care IT professionals.

Achieving the coveted Level 10 status requires a high level of rigor, meaningful adoption of digital health strategies and evidence-based outcomes across a variety of care delivery environments, including acute, ambulatory and community-based. Participants in the annual survey are given a ranking of one through 10, with nine and 10 signaling the most innovative digital transformations made by health care technology leaders “who actively push the industry forward,” according to CHIME.

Organizations also are evaluated for their adoption and integration of user-friendly online platforms designed to enhance the patient experience. In Baptist Health’s case, the health system was assessed for its patient portal, My Baptist Chart, as well as for its wayfinding and easy-access app, Baptist Access.

“Our digital health team strives to address the needs of team members and patients to continuously improve how care is delivered,” said Aaron Miri, MBA, FCHIME, CHCIO, senior vice president and chief digital and information officer at Baptist Health. “Technology, stakeholder collaboration and a constant focus on the patient experience allow us to meet our patients where they are, providing timely and personalized support that makes a real difference in their care and outcomes.”

Baptist Health ranked highly in analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement, among other categories. Its sustained optimization of electronic health records and adoption of artificial intelligence tools like voice-driven AI helped elevate Baptist Health above its peers. In addition, the focus on allowing clinicians to work at top-of-license by reducing clicks and time spent on administrative items is a continued concentration for the IT team.

“At Baptist Health, we hold ourselves to the highest standard of care, which encompasses every single patient interaction, whether digital or physical,” explained Michael A. Mayo, DHA, FACHE, president and CEO of Baptist Health. “We are honored to have been recognized by CHIME for our commitment to being a connected and responsive health system that respects and prioritizes the needs of our patients at every step.”
