Courtney Hester Biography and Information

Courtney Hester joined Baptist Health in 2015. She is the Director of Spiritual Care Clinical Services. She offers specialized spiritual care to the patients, family and staff in the outpatient cancer center setting, including radiation, infusion, oncology clinics and the Hill Breast Center. Courtney created and implemented a family grief card program as part of her care for families and staff. She supports the staff in their day-to-day routines, as well as during debriefings after critical incidents.

Courtney received her Clinical Pastoral Education training as an intern and resident at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was assigned to several oncology units. She previously worked as a minister to children and preschool director at First Baptist Church in Tucker, GA and she served as Program Director of the Andrew P. Stewart Center in Atlanta, GA.

Courtney earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Divinity from McAfee School of Theology. She is endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC).

Courtney enjoys giving back by routinely serving on APC board certification committees. She and her husband, Britt, live in Jacksonville, Florida, with their two children and their Corgi, Toby.
