Jairo Brieva, MD

Jairo Brieva, MD, grew up in Miami in the 1970’s and moved to Colombia at the age of 16, where he then completed high school and medical school. Since coming to Jacksonville for his residency in family medicine, he has called it his hometown after living here for nearly three decades. He has a daughter soon to be in her last year of high school who is also considering a career in medicine. Dr. Brieva provides coordinated and personalized medical care, age-appropriate preventive care and individualized care goals. He strives to provide his patients, support staff and colleagues with an environment that promotes empathy, availability, approachability, teamwork and resolution. His areas of expertise include:

About Me

My family and I enjoy traveling, but we mostly enjoy the Jacksonville beaches on weekends. We love to go out to dinner with our friends and family, trying new restaurants and international cuisine.

My medical approach is simple: try to get to know each patient the best I can. Focusing on their early and current family structure, support system, level of education/training, spiritual and medical beliefs and work experiences. I thoroughly enjoy learning about the fascinating lives and experiences of my patients. Knowing these past experiences can improve relationships and overall clinical outcomes for my patient's chronic conditions.
