Job Summary
Baptist Health is currently looking for a Decentral Internal Medicine Pharmacist to join our team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a full-time, day shift opportunity, working 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday and every fourth weekend. You will work both independently and on a team. The role will primarily focus on providing pharmaceutical care to patients in the Heart Hospital's Heart One Unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in internal medicine pharmacy practices, excellent clinical judgment, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This pharmacist should also possess strong communication and writing skills. They will participate in daily rounds with hospitalists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use, collaborate on medication treatment plans, and discuss patient progress and discharge needs. The every 4th weekend shift supports the Central Pharmacy and provides coverage for our inpatient units. A strong background in clinical pharmacy experience and/or a completed PGY1 is preferred. Candidates must posses a Pharmacist license in the State of Florida in order to be hired into this position.
As a Decentral Internal Medicine Pharmacist, other duties will include:
- Entering orders with great accuracy.
- Checking technician work for accuracy prior to release of medications and solutions to the floor.
- Supervising technicians and serves on committees as assigned.
- Answering questions for all health care professionals.
- Serving as a consultant for members of the medical staff.
- Monitoring patient therapy as assigned, including pharmacokinetics service.
