Job Summary

Baptist Health is hiring an Infection Preventionist to join the System Infection Team.  This is a full-time, in-person opportunity located on the Baptist Nassau campus.

Infection Preventionist (IP) relies on rules and concepts to guide practice as knowledge and skills in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) develop. The IP is responsible for collaborating to promote, implement and sustain effective IPC strategies. Leadership: Assists in implementing and monitoring IPC program and practices. Collaborates to align IPC program goals with organizational goals. Infection Prevention & Control Operations: Performs surveillance and investigation using epidemiologic principles to identify and classify events, indicators, measures and/or outcomes. Reports epidemiologically significant findings to key stakeholders. Ensures applicable reporting requirements and regulations are met. Participates in infection prevention and control assessments and/or rounding. Assesses the education needs of customers and/or the community and delivers basic educational offerings. Assists with outbreak investigations. Infection Prevention & Control Informatics: Monitors infection prevention and control processes. Identifies trends and changes in process and outcome metrics. Organizes and shares findings from surveillance activities and quality improvement projects. Quality Improvement: Participates and contributes to IPC projects/teams, using evidence-based practices and published guidance. Participates in performance improvement projects and use process and outcome measures to ensure that interventions are sustained over time. Utilizes data to aid in decision making and goal setting. Participates in IPC risk assessments and action plan development for risk mitigation. Professional Stewardship: Collaborates with internal and/or external partners to promote health and positive clinical outcomes for the larger community and continuum of care. Research: Reviews evidence-based practices and research findings to incorporate findings into practices.
