Baptist Medical Center is excited to be hiring for a Laboratory Information System Manager for the Baptist Laboratory System. As the Laboratory Information System Manager (LIS) at Baptist, you play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of laboratory services by managing the software systems that suport lab workflows and will oversee configuration, upgrading, maintenance, and optimization of LIS software, ensuring seamless integration with laboratory automated workflows and regulatory compliance. Data Management will be a key component of daily functions, ensuring data entry and reporting of lab results are streamlined and aligned with data security and privacy regulations, while also monitoring system back ups and ensuring the availability of historical lab data for analysis and auditing.

This LIS manager requires technical expertise, leadership, and excellent communication skills to manage people and projects and will be a support for the system goals.  This LIS manager will support the entire Lab system overseeing all LIS activities across the entire Baptist Health laboratory system and is expected to organize LIS resources to ensure each site is visited regularly to provide staff training and support as needed but also assess quality assurance at each site to prevent errors and align with regulatory standards. Successful candidates will possess exceptional communication, project management, and relationship-building skills, as the core of the role involves uniting laboratory, information services (IS), information technology (IT), clinical information (CI), as well as vendors to ensure seamless collaboration and support.

As a Laboratory Information System Manager, your duties will include, but are not limited to: 

• Supervising, managing, designing, reviewing, validating and supporting all areas of the laboratory.
• Manages all projects while coordinates testing with System and vendors.
• Analyzes and instructs others and maintains system upgrades.
• Tasks include training medical technologists for minor troubleshooting of all lab systems, instruments, printers and scanners. Participates if development of new workflows and policies.
• Utilizes LEAN skills to improve unit efficiency.
• Works collaboratively with IS staff and provides go live support.
• After hours support and on call support may be necessary.
• Trains and supervises Lab IS coordinator and provides joint coverage for the Systemtices.
• Epic proficiency/certification highly preferred 

A Clinical Laboratory Technologist SUPERVISOR license within the State of Florida is required.

• Epic proficiency/certification highly preferred (Epic Beaker)
• Data Innovation LIS experience preferred 
• Soft LIS experience preferred 
• Expertise with CAP Regulations
• Project management experience 
• Previous laboratory bench experince preferred 

License and Certification

• Registered Medical Technologist Required
• American Society for Clinical Pathology Required
• Licensed Medical Technologist Required Or
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Supervisor Required Or
