Job Summary
Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center (BMDACC) is actively seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team. Outpatient oncology social work is a sub-specialty of clinical medical social work where the LCSW or LMHC provides oncology social work interventions with cancer patients, caregivers and family members throughout the diagnostic and treatment continuum and survivorship. This is a Full-Time Days opportunity, M-F 8-5 with some flexibility.
This LCSW or LMHC will have specialized training in comprehensive cancer care, mental health and is skilled in the ability to help people living with cancer improve their quality of life, manage distress, cope effectively, develop strategies, utilize community resources and find hope.
The LCSW or LMHC will be responsible for:
- Working in a multidisciplinary collaborative team with physicians and other healthcare team members in determining patient’s medical status, treatment plan and prognosis as they relate to and effect psychosocial care, long-term care, palliative and end-of-life care planning.
- Actively participating in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
- Assessing psychosocial needs and provides services that enhance patient functioning, emotional well-being and continued access to services and resources in the community.
- Providing care coordination
- Providing counseling
- Support Groups
- Provides referrals to community services
- Education and Community Events
** This role requires a Master's degree and a valid Florida License as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Registered interns will not be considered**
