Baptist Medical Center is currently looking to add a Speech Language Pathologist to our Acute Care Rehab Team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a part-time opportunity working in an acute care, inpatient hospital setting at Wolfson Children's Hospital in downtown Jacksonville.

Shift Details: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of post-graduate experience working in a pediatric acute care setting, and is experienced in Trauma, Neuro, Cardiac, Respiratory, Dysphagia and Early Communication Deficits. Modified Barium Swallowing Study experience preferred.

Speech Language Pathologist, Acute Care Rehab, Job Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses.
  • Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions/dysfunctions such as neurological, cardiac, trauma, prematurity, respiratory, and general medical conditions which impact swallowing, speech, language or cognitive-communication skills.
  • Provides extensive patient/family education.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc.
  • Works in a fast-paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self-directed, and effective communication skills.

*Active BLS from the American Heart Association and licensure from the FL Department of Health required*
