We’re hiring for a Revenue Cycle Referral Coordinator for the TAP Department in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time day position located at Baptist MD Anderson Medical Center.
This department is a large team that supports oncology patients within person and phone interactions. The environment is fast paced, and high volume with mandatory overtime. The goal of a referral's coordinator is to make the patient scheduling appointment and time-line successful. We are looking for candidates who have experience in obtaining (not just verifying) diagnostic/imaging appointments (CTs, MRIs, PETs, etc). The day to day is busy, service lines are used to make appointments with a goal of being 15 days (about 2 weeks) ahead, it is important to be aware of competing priorities. Quality is a priority over productivity. There are opportunities for growth within BMDA.
The shift hours will be between 9:30 - 5:00 PM.
The primary purpose of the BMDA Referral Coordinator is to:
- Work directly with patients, physician and physician teams, and insurance companies to obtain authorizations and/or referrals for physician, imaging services, rehabilitation, infusion therapy, radiation oncology, and surgery appointment types for both the physician and facility.
- Adherence to the department’s policies and procedures related to the verification of eligibility/benefits, prior authorization requirements, and other identified financial clearance related duties.
- Authorizations and referrals must be obtained in a timely manner and status of such must be clearly documented in the relevant systems.
- The referral coordinator is responsible for timely escalation of financial clearance issues to the supervisor.
