Job Summary

Baptist Health is looking for a Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of experience to support our Surgical Services Team at Baptist Medical Center South. This is a short-term contracted position requiring a commitment of 36 hours per week for 12 weeks. This is a Full-time Days position. This position requires call and qualifies for competitive call differentials.

As a Surgical Technologist, your responsibilities and qualifications will include:

  • Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures
  • Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly
  • Proper disposition of specimens and instruments
  • Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
  • Call is required for this position
  • Graduation from an Accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES Program
  • OR - Previous experience working in an Operating Room (OR) setting
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program preferred NBSTA or NCCT, but not required
