Baptist Health of Northeast Florida’s Michael A. Mayo named to Florida Hospital Association Board of Trustees

Michael A. Mayo, DHA, FACHE, president and chief executive officer of Baptist Health of Northeast Florida, has been named to the Florida Hospital Association (FHA) 2022-23 Board of Trustees, representing Region 2* in a two-year term.

Led by President and CEO Mary Mayhew, the FHA is governed by a Board of Trustees and officers elected by more than 200 member hospitals and health care systems. Through representation, advocacy, education and information, the FHA supports the mission of providing the highest quality of care to patients.

"Each of our trustees cares deeply about ensuring timely, appropriate, and excellent health care to every Floridian and creating and sustaining a world-class system of care that leaves no one behind. The FHA's strength comes from a board committed to solving problems, working together and having one voice speaking up for patients and communities."

Dr. Mayo said, "Early in my life, my father taught me the value of hard work, dependability and 'showing up' to do what must be done. I look forward to working with my fellow FHA board members to help ensure we are investing in the people, technology and innovation needed to meet our Florida community's evolving needs and expectations."

In addition to this prestigious FHA board appointment, Dr. Mayo recently was recognized as an Ultimate CEO for 2022 by the Jacksonville Business Journal. This annual event selects 12 individuals from a roster of nominees who have successfully led their companies through times of challenge and growth.

Dr. Mayo also serves on the Board of Governors for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), an international professional society, and is a state delegate with the American Hospital Association, where he is involved in policy issues that affect the care and health of communities in the Southeast region.
