Joel Laton, MDiv

Joel Laton joined Baptist Health in 2022 and serves as staff chaplain for the Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center. He completed his residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville and Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center. Joel provides spiritual care to patients, families and staff in outpatient and inpatient settings.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Joel graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Health Science and received his Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. For 9 years, Joel wore many hats as a staff member for a local, interdenominational faith community. He worked in student and young adult ministry and organized local community-service projects. Joel is an active member of River City Church. He is married and enjoys spending time with family, exploring nature and watching college football.
