"Fast" Breast MRI

"Fast" Breast MRI Main Content Section

Baptist Health offers "fast" breast MRIs for women with dense breasts who have had a screening mammogram. A physician's referral is needed.

Designed for dense breasts

A fast breast MRI is designed particularly for individuals with dense breast tissue who are undergoing breast cancer screening. Dense breast tissue can complicate the detection of abnormalities using just mammography.

Quicker and more efficient

A fast breast MRI uses special techniques to make the imaging process quicker and more efficient. Typically taking around 10-15 minutes, it's significantly faster than a standard MRI. During the scan, a contrast agent is used to help us see certain parts better.

Early detection in high-risk patients

A fast breast MRI a non-invasive procedure, which means you won't be exposed to any harmful radiation. It's also valuable for identifying breast cancer at an early stage in high-risk patients and has the capability to uncover small tumors that might not be noticeable through mammography alone.
