Baptist Health currently offers virtual, in-person and pre-recorded Baby Care Basics classes.

Getting ready for your baby is such an exciting time. This class is designed to help first time parents learn the practical and essential skills needed for your newborn during the first three months after birth. These skills include:

  • All the basics of infant care from diapering to bathing.
  • Safe swaddling and Safe Sleep guidelines
  • Learning infant massage
  • Comfort cues
  • Feeding tips
  • When to call the doctor

 

More Information About This Class

  • These classes are taught by a Baptist Health nurse with labor and delivery / maternal newborn experience.
  • You don’t need to be a Baptist Health patient to attend
  • Registration is required to reserve your spot

Class Refund Policy

To accommodate others who wish to attend In-Person and Virtual Classes, we ask that all cancellations be submitted at least 72 hours prior to the start of the class. If you paid a fee for the event and you submitted the cancellation notice 72 hours or more to the start of the event you can either apply the class fee to another Baptist Health event or request a refund.

Pre-Recorded Classes are non-refundable.

Virtual Class

This class takes place virtually on your computer, tablet or smartphone. It consists of 2 weeknight sessions (2 hours each) for 2 consecutive weeks on the same day each week.

In-Person Class

This class is led by an instructor in a classroom. It consists of one 6-hour Saturday session including lectures and several hands on practice sessions with our life size baby dolls.
