COVID Safety at Baptist Health
COVID Safety at Baptist Health Main Content
At Baptist Health, we’re known for quality and safety. During the COVID-19 crisis, we’re no different. While many remain concerned about the COVID-19 outbreak, we know that some illnesses and injuries simply can’t wait. If you require face-to-face or in-patient treatment, we want you to know Baptist Health is a safe place for care.
Our COVID-19 Safety Measures
Here are a few protective actions to keep all patients, physicians, team members and visitors safe at our locations:
-
Safety Practices in Hospitals
- COVID-19 patients are isolated in the hospital, and negative-pressure airflow rooms prevent contaminated air from leaving the room
- Designated staff and equipment assigned to COVID-19 units
- Using Xenex germ-zapping UV technology to decontaminate rooms and masks
- Expanded internal testing for COVID-19 that accelerates timelines for patient results
- Protocols for pretesting of surgical and procedural patients for COVID-19
- Protocols to protect patients, physicians and team members from possible COVID-19 exposure during invasive procedures and surgery
- Special guidelines for use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for confirmed or expected COVID-19 patients
-
Safety Practices in Care Facilities
- Frequent cleaning of common surfaces to thwart exposure
- Escalated infection prevention measures including hand hygiene
- Social distancing practices in waiting rooms and common areas
- Expanding virtual care services by primary care physicians as well as specialists – and the ability to convert an existing appointment to telehealth instead
- Expanding post-hospital care to help recently discharged patients receive the rehabilitative services they need at home
