Jarrod Fountain Biography and Information
Jarrod Fountain joined Baptist Health in 2024. He completed his internship and residency at Lakeland Regional Health, rated the second busiest ER in the country. He served as chaplain in the TICU, SICU, MICU, ED, and other floors, where he walked with people through some of their most vulnerable moments.
Jarrod earned his bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Studies and his Master of Divinity at Southeastern University. Jarrod also served as a 7A high school baseball coach, helping lead and shape young athletes both on and off the field. Working with teens, he’s witnessed the importance of guidance and stability, which continue to provide even now to people in moments of crisis.
Jarrod has served a total of 12 years in the U.S. Navy (5 years active and 7 years in the U.S. Navy Reserve). Currently still in the Reserve, the Navy has given him an understanding of resilience, sacrifice, and the unique challenges faced by service members. His military experience influences his empathy and understanding in his chaplain role, especially when engaging with veterans/service members or others facing intense emotional or physical challenges.
Jarrod’s pastoral care centers on presence, empathy, and humility drawing from the Biblical theme of “washing feet.” He emphasizes entering patients’ stories, offering unconditional love, and showing grace. He wants every patient to feel seen, heard, and loved.
