JoAnn Hoza, PhD

JoAnn Hoza, PhD, graduated from Florida State University in 1989 where she majored in clinical child psychology. Dr. Hoza has always found it easy to connect with children and wanted a career in which she could help children reach their full potential in all aspects of their lives. About Me

I grew up in New York State but moved to California as an undergrad where I earned my BA and MS in Psychology, with a minor in child development. I then moved to Florida to pursue my PhD in child clinical psychology at FSU. During my graduate training, I worked closely with Dr. William Pelham on the development of the summer treatment program that was the behavioral component of an NIMH-funded multi-site study for ADHD. ADHD continues to be one of my areas of expertise. For more than 20 years, I have been the Director of Psychology and Clinical Services at Hope Haven Children’s Clinic, where I worked with many families and children in and around Jacksonville. I was also the Program Director of Children First in Divorce, the state-mandated parent education program.

I live with my cats in Atlantic Beach. When not working, you can find me at concerts or riding my bike down A1A. I also love to camp, hike or ski.

I served on the Case Review Advisory Committee for many years. I have also served on the CHADD Professional Advisory Committee in both Duval and St. John’s counties.
