Alejandro Peña Jr., MD, MPH, is board certified in cardiovascular and internal medicine and always strives to do what is best for the patients under his care. Dr. Peña believes the ideal visit is one in which a patient leaves with all of their questions answered. His areas of expertise include:

About Me

My wife and I are originally from the Atlanta area and enjoy hiking and kayaking. While attending medical school, I worked as a certified personal trainer at two different fitness centers.

My philosophy of care is centered on a patient’s knowledge of their disease process. I always make a point of asking patients if they understand their diagnoses because when patients grasp what is happening to them they are more likely to participate in their health care plan. I believe this can result in better adherence to their therapies and healthier decisions.

I have volunteered at public health clinics in Baltimore and Augusta, Ga., and served as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support simulation training instructor.
