Our locations ensure you can access excellent maternal health care no matter where you are in town. Baptist Health has five locations in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas:

Baptist Jacksonville: Closest to San Marco, Riverside, Springfield, Arlington, Murray Hill and Northside

Baptist South: Closest to Mandarin, Bartram, Nocatee, Julington Creek, Durbin and St. Augustine

Baptist Beaches: Closest to Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, San Pablo and Ponte Vedra

Baptist Clay: Closest to Orange Park, Fleming Island, NAS Jax, and Ortega

Hearing your pregnancy carries a higher level of risk can be stressful. But rest assured –– Baptist Health is the most experienced hospital you could choose in Northeast Florida. With Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville sharing its campus with Wolfson Children’s, and the Level IV NICU being just steps away from delivery rooms, it’s the ideal place to deliver your baby during a high-risk pregnancy. Baptist South and Baptist Clay are also equipped with Level II NICUs.

Are you high-risk? Or is your baby? At the Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy Center at Wolfson Children's, we can determine if your baby may need additional medical care. Early diagnosis can have a positive impact on your baby's health, your delivery plans, and treatment offered before or after birth. And, while 1/3 of all births are surgical, your chances for a scheduled cesarean go up when there is known fetal or maternal risk. We have protocols in place to help you recover in close proximity to your baby, even if they are in the NICU.

We offer a wide variety of classes online, as well as programs and support groups designed to promote a healthy lifestyle or help you prepare for childbirth and parenting. You do not have to be a patient at Baptist Health to participate. See our class topics and availability on our event page.

Please bring:

• Important documents (Driver's License, Insurance Card)
• Comfortable clothing to wear after delivery (we provide hospital gowns)
• Toiletries for the shower
• A birth plan (if you have one)
• Baby’s car seat
• A going-home outfit for you and your baby
• Phone/device chargers
• Birthing ball (if you prefer to use one)
• No jewelry may be worn in C-sections, and we ask that all valuables be left at home.

Many moms also choose to bring comfort items for themselves or their partner:

• Your own pillow, focal object, massage tools, oil, or music
• Nursing bra
• Earbuds
• Sleep mask
• Additional burp cloths
• Sleep sacks
• Going-home outfits for mom and baby
• Vending machine money
• A book, computer, or tablet

We will provide gowns, postpartum panties, postpartum pads, bedding, towels/washcloths, baby shirts, baby blankets, diapers, wipes, and breast pumps. We do have a limited number of peanut balls and CUB Chairs for patient use during labor but recommend bringing your own if you know you would like one.

It's best to check with the specific hospital staff for our current visiting policies and hours. There are times when visitation may be further limited due to clinical and/or privacy needs.

General visiting guidelines are:

• Only 1 support person at least 18 years old may stay overnight with the patient (unless the patient is in active labor).
• There are no set visiting hours for laboring patients; however, there is a 4-person limit.
• Visitation hours are from 5 am to 9 pm for our cervidils/antepartums/postpartum patient visitors.
• Visitors, including patient’s support person, will be limited to 4 in the room during visiting hours.
• No children under 12 are permitted during labor and delivery. Children under the age of 12 who are a sibling to the newborn, can only come in during the postpartum period.

One support person at least 18 years old may stay overnight with the patient unless they are in active labor.

At this time, meals are only provided to patients. Support partners and visitors must bring or purchase food. There are vending machines on all floors, a cafeteria and several other eating options at the hospital and a number of restaurants within a mile of the hospital.

No. At this time, we do not have bathtubs or birthing tubs for laboring.
