Daniel Ikeda, MD

Daniel Ikeda, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon and former Navy officer who has practiced medicine for nearly 15 years. Dr. Ikeda has expertise in inpatient and outpatient settings and many complex conditions. He is fellowship-trained in treating cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke and cerebral aneurysm and is a published expert in many neurosurgical conditions. His areas of expertise include:

About Me

My wife and I are originally from the northeast near Philadelphia. Although we have lived around the world with our four children, including Okinawa, Japan for two years, we love the opportunities, the beach, and the community that Jacksonville has offered our family. Our family is very active, and we enjoy travel, sports, cooking, and outdoor activities.

As a neurological surgeon, it is my job to inform patients and their loved ones about all the potential options they may have regarding their medical condition. The goals of surgery may vary from treating symptoms of a disc herniation to resolving the symptoms of a stroke to the alleviation of suffering from a cancer diagnosis, but no matter the condition, we will center the care around the patient's needs.

One of the largest motivations for joining the Baptist Health Lyerly team was to join the group of neurosurgeons who were experts in their individual fields, and who practiced with a tremendous sense of responsibility to the community in which we lived. With wide-ranging community outreach programs and international research projects going on within our department, I know that we are putting our patients in the top tier of neurosurgical care.
